Rhythms Magazine. Issue 137 December 2003
"Low-down, dirty and straightahead feels 60's
Fleetwood Mac - think 'Long Grey Mare'. Local four-piece headed
up by bushranger-styled frontman."
Forte Magazine Geelong Area 17th October 2003
"George MacFloyd is a four-piece outfit all
the way from the Yarrawonga and Benalla area... where apparently
blues is alive and kicking. The band (featuring Michael 'tommo'
Thomas on vocals and harp, Steve Sewell on guitars and vocals, Peter
'Lowdown' White on drums and Allan 'Frisky' Fraser on bass) plays
a 'wide range' of blues. Not suprising when you consider the influences:
Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Canned Heat, ZZ Top, Peter Green, Chain,
Dutch Tilders, and more. Along with covers, the boys play a few
original tunes and have released two CD's to date; the most recent
was the deliciously titled, Boosey Creek, last month."
Live to Ride Magazine. August 2004
"The band that played has a very unique name.
Moreover, the way it came about was the use of three of their dogs
names combined, the end result; "George MacFloyd" Blues
Band. They're a great bunch of blokes who've kicked on and have
regularly entertained many a crowd over recent years. They perform
real honest and raw blues based and built over time. This outfit
is a great example of a grass roots attitude continued, but to put
it simply;
They're shithot."
